Excellent sushi and even better service. Went during lunch deal and was very satisfied. Will definitely recommend and come back in the future.

  • *****

I live about 30 minutes away from TaiSushi House and it is worth the drive every single time. Fresh, great variety of rolls, as well as a variety of other meals for non-sushi lovers. The stuffed mushrooms are a must. We had the dream, autumn, and 5 star rolls that were fantastic. You have to try it.

  • *****

I've never had better sushi anywhere. Sushi House has a large dine in menu full of fantastic choices and they still accommodated my request for what was essentially a custom lobster roll. The food is pricey but it's not a debate as to if it's worth it or not. Ingredients were just about as fresh as fresh gets. A tight little shop with great lighting, reasonably comfortable seating, and music for the ambiance. My only issue was with seeing a younger employee, during lunch hours, kick his shoes off and lay down in the corner of the restaurant. All in all still a highly recommended place.

  • *****

Great quality food for a good price. Place is BYOB, and super chill. You can even order them through an app.

  • *****

The sushi here is amazing!! I have has sushi from all around and Tai Sushi has some of the best options for sushi connoisseurs and many other dishes if you don't like sushi. I ordered the sushi togo for delivery and it arrived in 20 mins which was awesome! I definitely will be back!

  • *****

Flipping amazing sushi. If you're near Craig Ranch / Frisco / McKinney, come enjoy this place sometime. This is the Canoe Roll.
Service is excellent, lunch is fast, every morsel is delicious.

  • *****

The sushi is great for the area and our favorite in McKinney. The tuna tower is the measuring stick against which we judge all other tuna towers. The proportions in it are just right! The kids meals are delicious. Our kids love them and we've had a couple bites and agree. The waitresses are so friendly and fast.

  • *****

This place sure knows how to satisfy their clients. Always with a super friendly attitude. The food is affordably priced, regularly tasty and clean.

  • *****

This is one of our go to sushi place now. Even though the restaurant is small, but the food is always seem to be really fresh and their service is A+++++ ! Jin and Michelle are the best servers ever! Although I do not like sashimi but their Salmon Crown is an exception!!!!! A must have dish whenever we go here. Another awesome thing about this place is BYOB! We will continue coming back to support you guys!

  • *****

Yelp helped us find this little gem in McKinney! It's tucked away near the Craig Ranch community on Stacy. Service was swift and the staff was very attentive. We got a standard California roll for our son and we had the Fantasy and Craig Ranch Roll. Very tasty and well priced. It's BYOB too! We plan to come back!

  • *****

Local mom and pop sushi joint outside of Craig ranch. It's tucked away next to a Pizza Hut. When you enter the atmosphere is relaxed. There is a sushi bar, tables and a traditional Japanese sit down table in the back. The sushi is better than any I've had in the DFW area. We like the Dragon roll. Craig Ranch Roll and the California Rolls. Each dinner comes with miso soup that's really good. The nice thing is the seaweed wrap is not too chewy. If you live in the area don't bother driving far for sushi the best in DFW is in your backyard.

First time here.....AMAZING lunch! Sushi, spring rolls and edamame were all done to perfection. Saw the Doordash guy come in, guess I'll have to add this to my list for delivery.

  • *****

What a great little local sushi place. Quite small, and excellent food. Great choice for sushi, and the kimchi hot pot is delicious. Wonderful for take out as well.

  • *****

Great little BYOB sushi spot. Take out orders are quick and always accurate. Service inside is prompt too.

  • *****

This is now our favorite Sushi restaurant. Great food with wonderful service. It's BYOB which is a plus.

  • *****

Really good lunch special. So much to choose from. You won't be disappointed. Some favorites are the veg tempura, tuna tower, beef tataki.

  • *****

Food and service was pretty good. Causal, intimate atmosphere and BYOB. We will return!

  • *****

Fun, intimate sushi place hidden away in McKinney/Allen area. Great service, BYOB, and a lovely atmosphere. Me and my friends and family come here almost once a week. Highly recommend!

  • *****

You will never be disappointed. Friendly staff that always greets you with a warm smile!

I often make phone orders to-go, my food is always fresh and made consistent. Your food can be ready within 15-20 minutes even if the restaurant is busy.

Never dined in the restaurant, however it is always clean neat and inviting. Rainbow roll and seaweed salad is my fav.

    Best sushi in town?

  • *****

Amazing sushi- the bagel roll is always perfect. It has a friendly neighborhood feel. People coming and going to take food home, and then families and friends camped out at the tables laughing and having a good time. Really appreciate the BYOB policy. For what you get- the pricing is good. If you're doing a to-go order, I'd recommend calling ahead- not a ton of waiting room. But they're fast

  • *****

This place is AWESOME! I live in the neighborhood and I've always wanted to drop in. Small (in a good way), intimate setting. Relaxing. Not overcrowded. Very sweet waitress. I love sushi but I don't eat rice (paleo). I had an amazing creation called Sun Flower. WOW! Usually, I'm stuck with a boring roll that's wrapped in cucumber. The Sun Flower roll came with crab, avocado, jalapeno, asparagus, spring mix and topped with salmon and tuna. Tai Sushi House is officially my go-to-spot.

  • *****

I finally found my "local" sushi shop!!! Our table had a few different rolls--all were delicious (both fish and non-fish). Will return.

  • *****

Awesome place! Service was great, food was amazing. We will be returning soon. I ate their lunch special, very very affordable.

  • *****

Great ambiance. Good preparations. They ran out of fried rice and the noodles were so-so.

  • *****

The sushi here is wowsa! The lava, the Crain ranch and so on ! So so good. Addict ! Fav sushi spot so far

  • *****

Inexpensive but very tasty lunch. My hubby got the sushi combo while I got the sashimi combo. I've posted the pic of mine. Hubby is a sushi snob and claimed the fish could have been a little fresher but it seemed just fine to me. Green iced tea was basically colored water and we never got refills so that got them downgraded a star. We'll go back because it hit the spot and it's the price of grocery store sushi but WAY better.

  • *****

I'm a relative newbie to Sushi. The food was very good. My second time dining there and I will be back.

  • *****

Cozy little place, very fresh and tasty! Its BYOB so enjoy it.

  • *****

This is our favorite sushi restaurant. Gone several times and doesn't disappoint. Service is on point as is the sushi. Must try the 'Tuna Tower' and 'Craig Ranch' it is fantastic!

  • *****

Always a great experience. We've been coming here for a couple years now and it's our go to sushi place. We've tried many others and it's very hard to beat the freshness and quality of Tai Sushi.

  • *****

The lunch prices were perfect at this intimate location off of Stacy Rd. We were pleased to find specialty crafted items on the menu that didn't disappoint.
This place was adorable and ideal.

  • *****

Amazing!! This cute little sushi house is on the smaller side, but the sushi is amazing. The stuffed mushrooms were my favorite! All of the seafood was fresh, and service was great. Heads up--it is BYOB.

  • *****

This place was good. Came pretty late and it's a small restaurant. The food did take a bit to get to us but it was made fresh so the wait was worth it. We got the green tea and wow, that was good. Definitely gonna come back and try other items! You should to!

  • *****

Was looking for sushi spot and we came here on a whim and so glad we did! The service was great but the food was even better! The Texas roll is amazing, I'd Texas had a taste that would be it! It was so good! My other favorite was the south beach roll that one was good too! But you must try the Texas roll!!

  • *****

Needing sushi in our lives, we decided to give this place down the road a shot. No regrets! The food is the best. I opted in for The Beginner: Cali roll and shrimp tempura roll. Ah-May-Zing! I always get the basic stuff because that's an indicator if they're good and they got it down to a science.

My husband ordered the Tempura Don, which comes with a big ass bowl of tempura over rice, a delicious salad, and tuna California rolls. Again, freaking tasty as all hell. We finished the night with tempura banana and vanilla ice cream as a dessert. It was... different. In a good way, but it leaves an impression on you. I'm still trying to process the meal, but it was quite good.

The restaurant, in other details, is nestled in a little plaza off Stacy Rd and is quite cozy. Probably not good for large groups, but definitely a go-to spot for a nice lunch/dinner with your S.O. Service was pretty good. A little slow even though they had only 3 tables at a time -- however, they were rolling out to-go orders constantly so that might've been the cause.

Overall, if I'm ever in the mood for sushi, I'll come back here but maybe do a to-go order instead.

  • *****

I've been here a few times now. ALWAYS exceptional. The Golden Veggie and Salmon Crown are TO DIE FOR. The iced green tea is delish as well. You just can't go wrong here.

  • *****

Went in on a whim and so glad I did! We went at an awkward time, around 3 or 4 and were the only ones in the restaurant. We still received excellent service! They were very accommodating to my special sushi requests! The place was clean and very cozy. We started with a ton of appetizers and oh my! The crab fried jalapeos were amazing! Fresh jalapeos with the perfect amount of spice. I was a little skeptical about the quality of the sushi because of the cheap prices but it was delicious. Tasted fresh and high quality. These are not tiny rolls with all rice like most places that offer the same price. So happy to have discovered them in the neighborhood!

  • *****

The wife and I came here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised.

When we came in, the place is small and only has an occupancy of 46 but that doesn't stop the awesomeness of their food.

Our normal sushi place is good but the firework is so flavorful and their stuffed mushrooms are really out of this world.

We will be back. Staff was cool. Food was great.

  • *****

Best sushi in McKinney. Wish they had Yuzu juice and Uni, still pretty good options though most are spicy rolls which is good for me but not for my wife. The byob feature is awesome.

  • *****

Food was great! Good customer service. Their fried rice and stuffed mushrooms were awesome!

  • *****

The food here was excellent. The service was warm, friendly, and I will definitely be back.

  • *****

The best sushi in the area hands down. Small but BYOB so worth waiting for. You can make reservations

  • *****

Prices were great, customer service was excellent and a twist on some things you can get anywhere. It is also BYOB which is nice so you can have your drink of choice without being taken to the dry cleaners

  • *****

Service was excellent and food was great. The best part was I was not pushed. They let us think first.

  • *****

Would definitely come back. Craig ranch roll was worth trying if you like fried rolls.

  • *****

Been going here for a little over a year. Great food and service with fresh fish. I would suggest the firework roll, dallas, and dream roll. They also do sushi combos with multiple options of fish.

  • *****

This place is great! The staff are friendly and the food is terrific. You can't go wrong with the Craig Ranch roll or the Tuna Tower. It's a clean and friendly atmosphere.

  • *****

There are no outside lights to find this place at night. Inside was small, few tables...but the hand roll (yummy rolll) was delicioilus. Also got the seafood dynomite appetizer which takes 20 min to bake, but not quite enough for 2 ppl as an appetizer. It didn't blow me away. Service was really good. $$.

  • *****

Just come eat here now! So good! Taka roll rocks the wasabi in all the right places. This is hidden in a shopping center and BYOB.

  • *****

Does not feel authentic but the price is reasonable and staff is friendly, will visit again.

  • *****

Came in during the week for lunch. Everything we ordered was very fresh and tasted great. Will definitely be back.

  • *****

Tai Sushi House is a great neighborhood sushi restaurant! We had the spicy edamame, a fire cracker roll and the sombrero roll. All were super delicious! We will definitely be going back soon. It is BYOB.

  • *****

Kind staff and delicious food. Consistent in their standards year after year.

  • *****

Love this little shop. The new owner is very friendly and a bright addition. He's great to work with! We have eaten in a few times but have gotten take-out lot. YUM!

Cute little place in Craig Ranch! Sushi is fresh and delicious! Love their rolls here! Everyone's real friendly too! It's a great place for take away as well!

  • *****

This place is amazing! We love coming here as it is close to home and sushi is the best!

  • *****

Really yummy place. Great fresh fish with great service. Left really happy and full. If you haven't tried you must go!

  • *****

Good selection and service was great. BYOB makes it a great day spot.

  • *****

Its our second time here, delicious food, everything were enough, the staff is great...a must try...

  • *****

Just tried it! Small place, could miss it if you weren't looking. Delicious! We got the dumpling soup, fried rice, and a California roll. Best sushi hands down. Careful the dumpling soup is spicy but yummy!

  • *****

Great sushi at great prices! The BYOB aspect of the restaurant is a wonderful addition and makes for a great date night.

  • *****

A small but DELIGHTFUL restaurant that offers outstanding sushi! This was our first visit and we were blown away by how delicious everything was!

  • *****

Loved the sushi from here. Must be eaten fresh. Good other Japanese fare.

  • *****

The location is small but the food is fantastic. We got there just at the right time before a small rush. The dumpling soup was amazing. A little tiny kick in the back of my throat, and the stock had me thinking of my grandma's soup stock from Puerto Rico. The rolls were great, especially the Canoe. The staff was super attentive.

We're new in town and said we were going to try all the sushi places nearby. This was our first one, and now I'm not even wanting to go anywhere else. ?

  • *****

Great sushi and very nice helpful people. They did mess up my order which I ordered to go so I didn't get to make it right, but it still was very good and I would go back next time I'm craving sushi.

  • *****

This place is a must tried. The restaurant is small, cozy and hidden in a plaza. We ordered sun flower rolls and it was so fresh, juicy. They have several no rice rolls options which is a plus for us. My family love sushi so we tried many places from cali, New York, Houston to here in Dallas. I would say this place is ranking of of the best sushi that we ever had. If you want to try out this hidden gem, book a table in advance for weekend dine in.

  • *****

What can I say about this place... I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, small but has so much to offer. You might miss it with it being a bit tucked away. But like a hidden gem, they have some awesome eats. Everything from the Just the regular California roll to the daily specials... cant wait to come back tomorrow.

  • *****

Amazing Sushi!! Wentbat lunch, had the special and it was fast and fresh! I will be back!!

  • *****

This place is excellent. Best sushi I’ve had in the metroplex and the staff is so friendly!

  • *****

My girlfriend and I just moved to McKinney and we were looking for a good place to grab some sushi. We found this place on Yelp and liked the reviews so we decided to try it out. This is a very small, quaint place tucked in a shopping center off Stacy (FM 720) by Custer and can be easily missed if you aren't looking for it. We got 2 of their more popular sushi rolls in Craig Ranch (C.R.) and Rock & Roll. They were both well presented and tasted really good. We also split their Japanese Style Chicken Fried Rice which was also very good. The Fried Rice came with your choice of Miso Soup or Salad with Ginger Dressing. I got the salad and it was really good. I judge Japanese style salads on how good the Dressing is and I really enjoyed their Ginger Dressing. I got their Hot Green Tea which was not bad. I have had better tea at other places. I saw other people have bottles of wine at their table so I assume it is BYOB which is nice. The only complaint I had during my visit was that it took longer than normal to get our sushi but the place was packed and there was only 2 sushi chefs working. They were constantly making sushi so I can understand. This is a very small place and fills up quickly so I advise you call ahead to get seats during peak hours. I think their max occupancy is like 46. This is not Densetsu but it is a great place for sushi close to the McKinney area. I will be going back.

  • *****

I love sushi. I only go to places that friends have visited. I took a chance on this one since it is in my neighborhood. It did not disappoint. Great service. Great sushi. Very fresh. The tuna tower is one of the best I have had. They deliver in the neighborhood, and it was just as good as at the restaurant. I will for sure be going back.

  • *****

We go to eat sushi at least twice a week. We tried it for the first time and decided this will be our usual sushi hangout. The beef tataki had diced ponzu jelly on top. It was very unique. The owner also recommended fresh whole scallop sashimi. We were surprise to see that in such small restaurant. After sampling a few dishes, we know the owner is a great sushi chef and has the heart to serve great sushi to his customers.

  • *****

Went here last week, high quality and authentic fish. I ordered the tuna and salmon sashimi and the owner brought it out personally. Great service, great food, would come again!

  • *****

Yelped for sushi in area, Tai popped up. This is now our neighborhood favorite. Excellent food, service, gotta try garlic sake mussels. CR ROLL awesome. Everything fresh. Absolutely will come again.

  • *****

Great restaurant and excellent food. The staff is very friendly and the service is fast.

  • *****

The place doesn't look like much from the outside and the inside is super small with only a couple tables, but the food is pretty good and the service is AMAZING! The prices are pretty decent with almost everything under $10 including the fancy rolls. They also have delicious noodles and desserts though the best part is the service. Your cup will never be empty and the staff is super cheerful. I will def come back and try some more rolls!

  • *****

My wife and I love this place! We've been a few times now. We try something new every time and have always been satisfied. The food is fresh and the service is great. The combination of the reasonable food prices and BYOB make this place high value!

  • *****

Our favorite sushi spot. Small and personal. Absolutely delicious! Our kids even crave it.

  • *****

Our first time at this restaurant. The food and Service were great. Tuna Tower and Yummy Roll were our favorites!!! Loved the Tempura Cheesecake as well. Small quaint atmosphere and BYOB.

  • *****

This was our second time trying Tai Sushi House. We read the reviews on here and were intrigued by what people were saying. Well, I gotta say, this is now our favorite sushi place. So far, my only regret is that I tried the exact same rolls as my first visit. I'd been craving them ever since we had them. We had the Craig Ranch roll and the Rainbow roll. The Craig Ranch roll is just a guilty pleasure. Tempura shrimp, avocado, and cream cheese panko fried with some special mayo sauce on it. Delicious. The rainbow roll had some of the freshest tuna and salmon I've had. Next time I hope to try something different but what I've had so far hasn't disappointed in the slightest.

  • *****

Love this place. The food is good and service is outstanding. I highly recommend for casual sushi.

  • *****

Best sushi in the area! The staff is always friendly and attentive. I am yet to have an even ok meal from them - the always delicious! If you haven't been, you're missing out!

  • *****

Can I tell you how much I love this place? I never write reviews but I will make an exception just because of how great the food is. I've eaten sushi all over the country. There is no better sushi anywhere! The tuna tower, seaweed salad and the beef tataki with ponzu sauce are my favorites. Knife skills of the staff are incredible. I bring all of my friends here. AWESOME!

  • *****

Still yummy and I make an effort to go at least once a week! This place is THE ONLY place to check out for sushi! Service is always top notch!

  • *****

Very good!! Will go again and order for delivery!! Rock and Roll, Firework and Dallas rolls all great... also had the garlic mussels, beef tataki, and tai carpaccio, yummy!

  • *****

Just AWESOME! Stopped in for sushi and ended up gorging ourselves. The tuna sliders were absolutely amazing, just the right amount of heat, crispy bread, and the cucumber slice made it a playful, perfect 'burger'. I also agree with the other reviewer on those garlic mussels, they were cooked just right and the flavor was delicious!
Had two rolls, yummy roll is SO yummy and the volcano roll was steaming at the table. Had a few pieces of tuna and Tai (japanese snapper) which were recommended by the staff and we were NOT disappointed. Loved the enthusiasm and knowledge of menu we got from the owner/manager. GREATNESS! So happy I found a new local spot for sushi

  • *****

I drove 40 minutes from Sherman TX, just to try this place out based on Yelp reviews. IT WAS WORTH IT! The Craig Ranch roll was great, of course, most things that are tempura fried are great- but all of the fresh fish rolls were so tasty. The Dallas roll was very clean and fresh. Lava roll hit the top of the list. The menu is varied, and I will make the drive to come here again. Great service and the owner is a gracious host.

  • *****

Just like some of the other reviews, I didn't have high expectations of this place, but I was blown away by the quality of their sushi! I have been impressed with every single roll I've tried. My boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE this place, and we order take out at least twice a week. They also deliver!!

  • *****

Last night we had a random craving for sushi. I am not a huge sushi fan, but this place is close to our house so we decided to try it. I loved it. The food was FANTASTIC. The service was FANTASTIC. It was clear that the management / ownership really cares about the customer experience here! We tried the spicy edamame and firework roll, volcano roll, and rock and roll. The firework was my personal favorite. Loved the crunch of the fresh jalapeo. We will definitely return !

  • *****

I just LOVE this place. My favorites are the Dream roll & Dallas roll. The tuna tower also can't be missed! The owners are so warm & friendly, always welcome you with a smile. Love that it is BYOB. Great for takeout or dine in! Great sushi, great people! I have never had a bad experience. Highly recommend!

  • *****

I don't consider myself a stuck up sushi connoisseur and I go for whatever taste good. This places has great food and fish as fresh as Texas can offer. The staff was helpful and very friendly. I left very satisfied and definitively recommend this place for everyone that lives in the area.

  • *****

First time here and what a wonderful surprise. Small, family owned and they work hard to make the experience a great one. The sushi is the freshest I've found since I moved to this side of town 2 yrs ago. Finally a sushi place near me...I'll definately go back!

  • *****

Absolutely fantastic! We were greeted at the door by the owner. So polite! Explained the menu and there were photos of the menu items on the TV. We ordered the Craig Ranch Roll, Firecracker Roll, California roll, and an order of Miso soup each.
I don't think words can explain HOW amazing the CR roll was!
We only spent $35 and feasted like kings.
    Exceptional service.
    Trendy place.
    Orgasmic rolls!
We will be back and spread the gospel of Tai Sushi House

  • *****

My girlfriends and I went there on a Friday night for girls night and had a great time. It is nice, quiet and relaxed. Just what we needed after a stressful week. One girl got there before the rest of us and she had texted us to not rush because they were treating her like a princess while she was waiting on us :) We had a few appeitzers. The Spicy Tuna Spring Rolls and Garlic Sake Mussels. Then we just asked our waiter to pick a few rolls for us to all share. They must have been listening to us because they ended up bringing us two of the three we said sounded really good. We then had to stop because we were full but others around us kept ordering things we really wanted to try. Next time! The staff is patient and very helpful. They even brought us a free dessert that was so delicious and refreshing. I will definitely be bringing other friends and family here soon!

  • *****

Awesome sushi, great service. I had about five rolls which were all great. Very reasonable price and BYOB. Definitely will go again!

  • *****

We ordered take out for the second time on Saturday night. It is nice to have really good sushi right around the corner since we have an infant who goes to bed at 7 pm. Both times the fish has been fresh and the rolls are plentiful. We have spent less than $50 (our usual budget if we go out somewhere) and had plenty to eat. We hope to keep returning & dine in soon because we love the food!

  • *****

I stopped in for a quick bite of sushi- i was the only one in there since they were shutting down the lunchtime in 15 minutes at 2:00. I ordered the sushi combo which came with 8 pieces of sushi - tuna, salmon, shrimp, snapper, smoked salmon, snow crab, unagi, and yellowtail. I actually did not have high expectations for this little place beside Pizza Hut- I am bit of a sushi snob. Well, I was proven wrong. The sushi was fresh and they were cut in generous portions. The fish-to-rice proportion was good. The owner, Albert was very friendly. I was so impressed with the quality of sushi that I sent my husband to pick up more sushi from Tai Sushi House for dinner that same night. So glad that there is a good sushi place in McKinney now.

  • *****

Decided to stop by here the other day after hearing about it online and let me tell you, the food is phenomenal. The place is small but I like the atmosphere; the waitress was kind and patient. She gave us great suggestions and walked us through the entire menu, answering all of our questions, I believe her name was Tiffany?? The menu has so many choices and we loved everything we ordered; the summer roll is a MUST TRY! Definitely good for families. The Mochi ice cream was delicious. Will come back again!

  • *****

The Lava roll was the best roll I've ever had! Seriously soooo good. The iced green tea was also really good bc I'm a huge tea person. Dining room is pretty small so I recommend calling ahead to reserve a table. They also deliver which is AWESOME. I will definitely be returning to Tai many many times!

  • *****

Here is a hidden gem, great sushi and a reasonable price! The Craig Ranch Roll is the famous roll, however, I loved the Dallas Roll more. Owner was out working the tables and I think that is great! Here is our new sushi place in McKinney!!!!

  • *****

Normally I wouldn't rate a restaurant 5 stars but every time I come here I have the best experience. The service is on point and the sushi is fresh and delicious. It is reasonably priced and BYOB. My husband and I eat here once a week whether it is delivery or fine in. Our favorite menu items are the tai carpaccio and the diamond roll. The Craig Ranch roll is great too if you're splurging on your calories.

  • *****

Wow! Excellent food. Very reasonably priced. Very clean atmosphere. TV with entire menu with pictures scrolling to help decide what to eat. Over the top customer service and the rolls are amazing. Very fresh and super good food.

  • *****

Best sushi in the metroplex and actually one of my top 3 sushi places of all time. Be prepared to wait or call ahead for a reservation, as ppl have discovered this little gem. Sushi is unbelievably fresh, rolls are amazing, and it's BYOB! The fresh green salad with ginger dressing is worth a try, as well as the salt and pepper soft shell crab, Dream Roll, Craig Ranch Roll, and Rock and Roll roll. Everything we tried was superb! It's our new neighborhood spot and we love the family-owned atmosphere! Albert is the owner and takes such pride in his place.

  • *****

Great customer service, great food, good selections and best of all great prices. Coming from Southern California I couldn't find a sushi place that had good/fresh seafood until I found this place. So glad I found this place thanks to YELP.

  • *****

I was somewhat sceptic all about the 5 star rating Tai had, but after trying it out, it's our new "go to" sushi place. Everything was super fresh and expertly made. The service was friendly and really had a family run feel to it. It's BYOB which is nice if you want to have drinks, but the iced green tea was also excellent. Overall...it's why I find great places with Yelp - people know good food/service when they see it.

  • *****

I Went there yesterday and was surprise they have the best rolls and appetizers, Everything was fresh and tasty! Def will go back again to try other foods on the menu :)

  • *****

I tried this quaint place with skepticism. I was blown away. The food was incredible! The service was great - very attentive. I didn't have to ask for a beverage refill. Server waited an appropriate amount of time for a recheck. She wanted to make sure the food was to my satisfaction. The owner stopped by to say hello to this first timer. Great first impression!! This will not be my last visit.

  • *****

Fantastic. Tai's has arguably the best sushi in the DFW Metroplex. Great service, delicious food, and quaint atmosphere. If you're looking for ambience, entertainment, or TVs to watch "the game", Tai's may not be the place to go - here, it's all about the food.

My recommendations include the yellowtail ceviche, tuna tataki, and whatever Albert (the owner) is recommending for the evening (he gets different fish in on different days). Get the strawberry mochi ice cream for desert.

It is unbelievable that it's in Craig ranch! Is it the best in the world? No. But I have to tell you it's in McKinney and damn good. I have told everyone I know!!! Support local and small places. It's really good and priced well. Now if we could get 2 good restaurants in our area I wouldn't know what to do! Thanks for reading!

  • *****

First time here and loved it! Everything we ordered was DELISH! Tuna Tower, garlic mussels, seafood yaki udon and beef tataki. The workers were SUPER nice as well! Will definitely return!

  • *****

Very friendly service, good ambiance, small place but cozy, rainbow roll was awesome...fish very fresh.i didn't know this place exist in my area.

  • *****

This place was super delicious! Great service and atmosphere. The food was amazing and we will definitely be back for another date night! To top it off it's BYOB ; ))))

  • *****

Love this place! Best sushi in McKinney - restaurant is small yet they take reservations which I highly recommend. They also have a busy take-out and delivery service (yes, you can have sushi delivered in McKinney!). Awesome staff and the food is very fresh. My kids love the Dam chicken (very clean chicken bites) it's an appetizer but you get a pretty large serving and my husband favors the Rock & Roll roll and I love the Firework roll. The rolls come with 8 pieces, each, so you can't beat the price, quality and convenience in McKinney. It's BYOB so pack your wine! Highly recommend!

  • *****

I visited again with my daughter. Once again the sushi was very good. My daughter is not a big fan of Raw fish so we tend to stick with the cooked sushi rolls. We had the Craig Ranch, Volcano and Texas rolls and they were all tasty. We also tried the Crab Salad on crispy rice appetizer which was very good. All around another good experience.

  • *****

Amazing neighborhood gem!!!! Even the kids loved it. Had the Tuna Tower, Craig ranch roll, and jalapeo roll. Byob too

  • *****

We went to Tai Sushi for the first time last night. People were extremely friendly, almost excited when they heard it was our first time. Explained how the menu worked and what the most popular rolls were. We ordered edemame and it were cooked perfectly and just the right amount of salt, and 4 rolls. Our favorite by far was the Yummy roll. So fresh! And it is BYOB! Will most certainly be back.

  • *****

This place is amazing. It reminded us of the Restaurants through out Japan( our favorite place to visit). The fish is the fresh and everything we tried tasted amazing. The staff is wonderful and the place is very clean. We ordered the Rock and Roll, Craig Ranch Roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, A spicy roll ( cannot remember the name :/) Gyoza (dumplings) and Miso soup. We are excited to have this business here in our backyard.

  • *****

Really good, fresh and tasty sushi restaurant. And BYOB! Love it. Small, so get there before 7 in the evening. I highly recommend the salt and pepper soft shell crab. Sashimi salad was great as were all of the rolls we had. Service is great. Very clean for sushi restaurant. They have a large menu of cooked and raw seafood items. Everything we have ordered here has been outstanding. We'll be back!

  • *****

The customer service was excellent, if anything a little too excellent. I've heard of helicopter moms, but this place has a helicopter waitress and staff. At least they are happy to be there with a smile.

The food was also good. We got the vegetable tempura, which we will definitely order again. The rolls were also good, despite being loosely wrapped (ingredients will fall out if you're not careful.) Granted, that could've been because we asked for it to be cut into smaller pieces, so be careful when asking for that. The flavor combos are delicious, but some of the flavors overpower the taste of the fish, which happened with the Dallas roll.

Overall, though, it was good food and we'll definitely go back again.

  • *****

Great restaurant. Came here with my wife and we really enjoyed the food. Ordered multiples rolls and the katsudon. Everything came out excellent, we were especially impressed with the James Roll. It has a unique wasabi sauce on it that we both enjoyed.

  • *****

Love this place! Have dined in and had it delivered. This is what I call the perfect night. Glass of wine, sushi (delivered) and a movie. Craig ranch roll all the way!!

  • *****

Went early on a Saturday at 6:00 pm, no one there dining, but by 6:30 was packed. The dining area is small. The staff was very attentive and the owner
Is very hands on. The food is good and they offer a good variety of rolls, the Dallas roll was our favorite w a nice lil spicy kick. We were a little disappointed to arrive and learn its BYOB. Nice place but I will probably go
to Zen Sushi for my local sushi fix w more offerings and a full stocked bar!

  • *****

I didn't have high expectations for this place only because of what was there before. I was very wrong. The rolls were fresh and very creative.

We have added this restaurant to our list of go to's but I wish they'd sell wine. I love a little saki or wine with my sushi.

  • *****

This place is really good. Small BYOB restaurant. Regardless of how busy it is, we have always had really fast service. My husband and I could be in and out within 30 minutes if we wanted. I would come back here just for the Beef Tataki. It's so good. I never order that type of dish typically, but a friend ordered it and I've been hooked ever since

  • *****

This was a great find! Small little place with very friendly staff and owner. The sushi was wonderful. Very fresh. Loved the caterpillar roll. We will definitely be back!

  • *****

Love their Yummy and Rainbow rolls, and they are really, really good. The service is very friendly and I love coming here.

  • *****

I'm very happy that there is a decent sushi place near us. The sushi is very good for a reasonable price. My favorite is the Dallas Roll. This is a regular place for my bestie and I when she is in town and we both love their sushi rolls.

The customer service is great. They are very attentive and incredibly friendly.

The only reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have tried some of their Udons and Soups (the cooked stuff), it's pretty bland compared to other places, but I was honest to the owner and let him know very nicely. It would also be nice to have free wi-fi, which I made a suggestion.

I hope this place stays around for a very long time.

  • *****

I would like to just repeat that I opened a Yelp account more than a year ago just to give this place a great review! I'm happy to say that more than a year and thousands of sushi rolls later, it's still the best there is!!! I get sushi here about once a week--very polite staff, always helpful and friendly, and the food is amazing!!! Everyone must try it out and see for themselves!!!

  • *****

Stop searching. The best sushi in Dallas is found right here. I've tried it all, this is the best. Bring a bottle of wine and your sweetie for a great experience. Best ever!

  • *****

So glad we made the drive to try this place! Small, quiet restaurant with a super attentive staff and AMAZING sushi. Think I found my new favorite place. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I definitely would.

  • *****

Well, they pulled it together with the sushi rice and our nigiri no longer falls apart. Hooray! We get takeout from Tai Sushi House usually once a week and everything is packaged well and makes it to our house intact. The owner is so friendly when we pick up our order, and we're just very happy with the quality of the food.

As an aside, if you have an aversion to any of the ingredients in any of the rolls...just don't order that roll. Sushi restaurants around here cater to the market and the market clearly likes fancy rolls with cream cheese. Restaurants shouldn't be dinged because you don't like some of the things on the menu. If you are partial to traditional sushi offerings, these folks make a great seared tuna nigiri and vegetable roll.

  • *****

Simply phenomenal. I saw this place on Yelp a few weeks ago and decided to try it on my day off. This is a cute little place right off of Stacy in Craig Ranch tucked away next to a church and a Pizza Hut. It's pretty small on the inside as someone had mentioned before (maybe 10 or so chairs) but comfy enough. The staff was more than welcoming (I believe it was the owner or manager I ordered with) and explained to me all the different roll choices. I ordered about 6 rolls to go and the pork gyoza fried. My order was ready and I was out the door in less than 15 minutes.

I got home to throw down on my sushi feast and was n in absolute heaven. I got the spicy tuna, salmon, bagel, rock n roll and firecracker rolls. The fish was so fresh and delicious and each roll had something different to it. The pork gyoza was perfectly fried yet juicy on the inside. It was so good! And the sauce that went with it was awesomeness!

Overall, this was some of the best sushi I've had in North Texas and I'm so happy they are close by home. They also deliver! (15.00 minimum). Will be going more often for sure!

  • *****

Not only did we get personalized service from Tai, we also were given great food suggestions and the fish was very fresh and delicious!
The BYOB option works for us as it kept our bill lower and we brought wine we like to drink.
    We will be back often!

  • *****

Janice was great! Great food as well! Awesome family feeling atmosphere. Janice has funny and witty stories and will be going back for the food and her outstanding service.

  • *****

We still eat here at least 4 or
More times a month. It is great for people with kids and those who are new to sushi. The staff are always great. The carry out is quick and they deliver. I love the veggie roll, the Craig ranch roll and the veggie yaki noodles; so does my four year old pick daughter. So thankful a yummy sushi opened so close to us.

  • *****

I'm so excited to have found this place. It is everything sushi should be and more. The Tuna Tataki is my husbands new favorite sushi dish and he doesn't even like sushi! We also got the garlic sake mussels and they along with all of the other fish were perfectly done and extremely fresh. We will be coming back very often.

One thing to note is this restaurant is BYOB, which is also a plus. :)

  • *****

Amazing Family owned place and atmosphere is very cozy! Stuffed jalapeno and goza is a must to try !

  • *****

Small restaurant, around 10 tables and maybe room for 25-30 guests. When walking in, you'd never know there was a pizza hut next door. I guess we got there at the right time, because as soon as we got our appetizers, people were walking in the door and waiting for tables to free up. The restaurant is clean and the decor is minimal, including a tv showcasing pictures of all the dishes near there small waiting area. The very friendly and welcoming staff gave this place a loveable charm.

They have a large selection of appetizers, we chose fried pork gyoza, mussels and pork sausage. The gyoza were nice and juicy though they appeared to be deep fried, as opposed to pan fried which is how I prefer them. Even more delicious were the garlic sake mussels, though I wish there had been more broth to slurp up. The only oddity of the night was the pork sausage, which was described as a Japanese Black Sausage. I've never had or heard of it, so we ordered it. Three grilled and scored sausage links appeared at the table, and tasted like many other pork sausages. I'm not sure if that was the point.

The fish was super fresh in all of the rolls that we tried including the Dallas roll, Lava, and Yummy roll. The yummy roll lived up to it's name filled with tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado, with eel and eel sauce. The Dallas roll was also delicious, though the spicy tuna filling was a little light on the heat. It was filled with spicy tuna, cucumber, and some asparagus, then topped off with salmon and avocado. The chefs brushed the top of the roll with a delicious finishing sauce, though I can't remember what. It really brought out the buttery aspects of the salmon.

The Lava Roll included crab, cream cheese, avocado, with spicy mayo and eel sauce, which was the perfect ending to our evening at Tai. It was very lightly breaded and had the perfect crunch. All too often a fried roll becomes heavy and sad due to overzealous breading, but not at Tai.

Overall the experience was intimate, servers kept our glasses full and answered all our questions and made suggestions. Even the pacing of the meal was well timed, as soon as we finished one appetizer, another appeared at the table. They don't have sushi bar seating, but they do offer delivery, BYOB, and I paid cash, so I received a 5% discount. (Not sure if that only applies to dine-in guests) Tai definitely has all the right things going for it, and we'll be back to try more.

  • *****

Amazing sushi regardless if you are in the burbs or not. We are so excited to find this place near our house. Everything was better than expected and the service was great!! I am not a tempura fan, but I ordered the Craig ranch due to the prior comments and it was awesome!! I will definitely order again. The lobster roll was worth every penny. They even deliver :)!!

  • *****

Excellent! Fresh sushi, fast service, and super friendly staff. Tucked in a neighborhood as a total gem. Don't forgot to BYOB!

  • *****

My husband and I ordered take out from Tai Sushi House tonight and were blown away. When we arrived we were handed a refrigerator zip close bag that was filled with our sushi. We were amazed and beyond excited about this type of customer service. When we got home we enjoyed the sushi and were pleased with how fresh everything was. This place is by far the freshest sushi place we've eaten at in Texas. We had the Dream Roll, Rock'n'Roll Roll, Craig Ranch Roll, Bagel Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll and Smoked Salmon and Yellowtail Shashimi. They were all great!

Even though it's thirty minutes from our home we will definitely be back, it's worth the gas!

  • *****

Still great after going several times now. The waitstaff is always super nice. Went with one of my girlfriends the other night who isn't into sushi and she even liked it. She ordered the dumpling soup and said it was the best dumpling soup she's ever had....and she's kind of a dumpling soup connoisseur. She also got the chicken teriyaki without rice and said it was good. Nothing spectacular but good. She wished she had just ordered a big vat of dumpling soup.

  • *****

My husband and I tried this place out for dinner tonight. A couple items weren't bad but weren't really our thing. The items we liked... We loved!
For a main dish we shared the beef Unagi Don... It was something neither of us had tried before and wanted to branch out of our norm. It was ok but won't be a new favorite. I thought the flavor and beef was good. My personal opinion is that the noodles were too doughy.
    On to the sushi!!
    We tried three rolls:
    Summer Roll
    Diamond Roll
    Snow White Roll
The Summer Roll was the most boring of the three. It was good but lacked flavor. The extra spicy mayo helped but didn't help get it to great. The Diamond Roll was Rob's favorite :) he fell in love with the taste, texture, and wasabi sauce. I fell in love with the Snow White Roll :D it's seriously topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese!! It's served slightly warm from the cheese & the fish tempura filling and it's packed with flavor! It's definitely my new favorite sushi roll. Like many other yelpers, we thought the customer service was great :)

  • *****

I love this place! The stuffed jalapeos and summer roll are both fantastic.

  • *****

First place we tried in McKinney and been back a few times. Fish taste fresh and the rolls are great. Try the Habanero Tobiko, it is good. Nice little place that serve good food and have great service.

  • *****

Outstanding little restaurant tucked into a small shopping center, Tai Sushi House packs a great punch when it comes to service and quality. The staff here is attentive without being overbearing and the owner/manager is active in the floor operations of the restaurant. There are several nice specialties here as well as your stock sushi offerings. The white fish carpaccio and tuna tower are tremendous as are the fresh fish offerings.

There are also many choices for kids (their chicken nuggets are splendid) as well as land lovers and the cooked-food set. Portions are generous and the pricing is competitive if not lower than other sushi restaurants in the area.

This is a small establishment so plan on an early arrival or call ahead for a table. It is BYOB (call first).

  • *****

First off, this place is BYOB, so make sure you bring a bottle (or more) wine and some friends. The wait staff are awesome and the owner has been on site every time we have gone and they all truly take care of you. The rolls are great with some fabulous choices for those individuals that like cooked pieces rather than the sashimi which are really good. The beef tataki is fabulous. The only area I could possibly complain about is the size of the restaurant - it is small. Most week nights are not too bad but on Fri/Sat nights better get there early. This is our little sushi gem, so feel free to skip it :) !...

  • *****

Best sushi I've had in Dallas! The rolls are always very fresh and well-made. The portion sizes are a little smaller than other sushi places, but what they lack in quantity, they more than make up for in quality. The owner is always very friendly when we go. We've also gotten delivery a few times, very fast delivery! Would highly recommend to everyone!

  • *****

This is the best sushi in Collin County that I've tried. It is always very fresh and the family that owns it is so friendly. Service is always great. They're not overpriced and they truly strive to make their guests happy. Can't recommend them enough!

  • *****

This place rocks. Small and not fancy but amazing food. Byob. Great service and super nice. Also fast.

They get fresh fish at least 3x a week and it shows. Well prepared sashimi and coming from San Francisco, they do it well here. Plus their udon sizzling is incredible.

  • *****

We live off Stacy Rd in Allen so this place isn't far from where we live. The reviews were so good we had to come check it out ourselves. The staff are so NICE! That's the first thing I noticed. It's a very small space & super busy. We were a party of 5 and had to wait a bit for a table to leave so they could combine tables to allow us to sit. Besides that I love that they have a TV which scrolls pictures of all their dishes so you can already get an idea of what your ordering & how it's prepared! We ordered, Dallas Roll, Craig Ranch Roll, Dam Chicken, Snow White Roll = was my favorite! And a few other rolls. We loved them all!! Our plan is to order more for delivery (YES, they deliver) and go back until we've tried them all because they all look good & are so creative:)

    Great experience.

  • *****

I LOVE Tai Sushi! It is my new favorite! I was really sad when my old favorite place drastically when down hill, then closed. However, I was extremely excited to find this hidden gem a few miles from my house... AND it's BYOB. I have tried many of the sushi rolls and have loved all of the fresh ones that I have tried. My favorite has been the sashimi; very fresh and I think I could eat my weight in the tuna/yellow tail. Excellent service as well. I don't want to tell you what to try; as everything that I have tried has been very yummy. It seems that they do a lot of take out orders, so keep that in mind if you are craving sushi, but don't want to sit down there.

Check it out! You won't be sorry!

  • *****

Great food, reasonably priced, with great service! Jennifer was very friendly and helpful along with every other employee. Will definitely be going back soon, love that it's BYOB.

  • *****

Since being introduced to Tai Sushi House from friends, it instantly replaced all other sushi places I frequented. My favorites are the Tuna Tower and the Volcano Roll. It has become a meal I get at least once a week. I look forward to trying out other tolls I haven't yet. Haven't been disappointed with any of their sushi yet. My only wish is that they'd expand their delivery area by 1-2 miles. I will continue to make the short drive as the sushi is that good.

  • *****

This place is all around amazing!!!! Service is amazing!!! Food is delicious!!! And it's BYOB!!!! My new fav!!!

  • *****

I'm a huge sushi fan but my biggest problem is that it's hard to find good, fresh sushi without having to give up a kidney or liver.

Tai Sushi House fortunately is one of those places where the prices are reasonable and the sushi is AMAZING.

I only had two rolls, the Craig Ranch roll and the Fantasy roll. The first was a tempura fried roll, but it also had "tai special sauce" on top which made it taste amazing. The Fantasy roll was shrimp and crab that was also very good. I saw someone bring out the lobster roll, tail and all, and that's something I have to try the next time I go.

It's a cozy little restaurant and BYOB, so you have to bring your own hot sake...

Also, going to have to take advantage of their take out, too.

  • *****

The previous 2 reviews ( FAKE!) were so obviously written by the same person- the exact same verbiage is used in each fake review. This restaurant has been nothing but EXCELLENT since the day they opened their doors! The owner always personally comes to the table to check on each customer. The food is fresh and flavorful and the rolls are exceptional. The best thing is : THEY DELIVER! I don't like Chinese food, so having fresh sushi delivered is awesome! Thank you Tai Sushi House! Hopefully people reading these reviews will be able to
    spot the fake reviews.

  • *****

This is only the second time I've been here and I have to say it's fantastic! The food here is terrific. My husband, daughter and I had the Craig Ranch, the Rock and Roll and the fantasy. The presentation was pleasant and the taste was superb. The best part is the service! Had a nice young man who very pleasant and always kept our glasses full. We dug right into our food and I didn't remember to take photos until after darn it! I would highly recommend this little gem! It's a small place so call ahead.

  • *****

New owners and still the same amazing service and food..... We eat here at least once a week always get the salt-and-pepper shrimp, and of course they're famous Craig Ranch Roll, loyal customers for life :)

  • *****

This is mine and my fiancs new favorite place to go! We just discovered it a few weeks ago and Tonight we went and had the best service by the sweetest waitress Janice! It was nice to get to know her and know we are going to a place where the employees love their job! She was so welcoming and we can't wait to go back and have her as our waitress and have some more great conversation and food!! If I could give a million stars I would!!!! Thankyou Tai Sushi House!

  • *****

DELICIOUS! The Tuna tower was amazing, Baked Salmon Roll melted in your mouth, and the Texas roll didnt disappoint either.

  • *****

Last night we tried Tai Sushi House for the first time and were blown away at the amazing sushi and wonderful service. Fresh fish, creative rolls, great hot tea. The staff is so friendly and the service outstanding. This will now be our go-to sushi place. Can't wait to go back!!

  • *****

We just love this place. The sushi is fresh, I love the combo plates - we do Sushi combo #4 and #6 and pay the extra $1 to make the roll spicy tuna. The Dream roll is our favorite, so yummy!!! The best part are all the appetizers and deserts you don't find at other sushi places. Fried cheesecake anyone??

You cannot beat the prices here either, finally good sushi that doesn't make my wallet cry. And if you live nearby they deliver!!

I'd give it 10 stars if I could!

  • *****

Since moving from Las Colinas and always eating at Blue Fish - I have now found my new sushi place - Tai sushi house!

Their sushi is always fresh, their crab meat is REAL crab meat - not the store bought imitation crab. Their rolls are decent sized - not as large as Blue Fish, but not super small like others, they don't skimp on the fillings and they don't over do it with the rice.

Their edamame is delicious - not over cooked, just the right amount of salt!

The staff is super friendly! If you are eating in it's good to know that they are a smaller restaurant, they maybe only have around 10 or so tables. Not super great if you are bringing a party over 6 - In fact 6 is going to make things a little squished.

    All in all:
+1 star for cleanliness and friendliness
    +1 star for fresh sushi
+1 star for the minimum to no wait when ordering in and taking out
+1 star for environment - great music, friendly people
+1 star for REAL ingredients and the size of their rolls

  • *****

Food was delicious and fresh, atmosphere was relaxing and very clean, service was friendly and attentive. Yesterday was my first time eating at Tai Sushi House in Mckinney and I must say I was impressed, which doesn't happen often for me when it comes to restaurants. I had the Katsu Don -Chicken cutlet on rice, salad and a diet Coke. I tried the mochie ice cream (Japanese dessert) The food was served quickly and hot and the flavors were perfect. Great portion size. The owner greeted me and made me feel like VIP. I enjoyed the personal feel of a smaller place that's run by the actual owner because no one cares more about a business than the owner.
This was a nice get away from the big box, hassle and bustle restaurant experience I have so many times in Allen.
It's not too far from Allen so I will definitely be back. Thank you.

  • *****

I'm not a sushi connoisseur but the sushi is good and the customer service is awesome!

  • *****

Great place. It's tiny but the wait staff is awesome. Our server, Scott, was very attentive and very knowledgeable. It's BYOB.

  • *****

Delivery sushi?? Who knew! This was the best delivery. We got miso soup salads an eel roll and a fantasy roll. Delicious. And very reasonably priced. Can't wait to order again!

  • *****

We went here for the first time and everything was delicious! We ordered a few Tai speciality rolls and all were good. We also ordered sashimi and it was fresh and tasty. As for dessert, we got the fried banana with waffle ice cream and it was okay. Reasonable priced. This place is small, so be sure to make a reservation before come. Also, BYOB... Overall this was our first time here and it won't be the last time. Highly recommend this place.

  • *****

    Rolls were great!
    Vibe was great!

Tons of fun (read: Americanized) rolls with interesting flavor combinations.
Get the salt and pepper shrimp and thank me later.

  • *****

A little tricky to find but food was really good and service was excellent. The little one dug the kids bento box. Now finishing it off with green tea waferwhich..yum

  • *****

OK... so I'm in a mood of cold food. It's already 8:25pm and don't wanna go out. I looked up sushi delivery and this restaurant pop out, order is super easy with their online menu, they quoted me 35-45 mins, which was a lie... I got my order in 20 mins. Food was really good and fresh. Definitely will order from them again.

  • *****

Love this place! Great sushi! My favorite one is the Craig Ranch Roll. The only downfall is it's BYOB.

  • *****

Great sushi, great service, and fast. Must try!
Ps- the best tuna tower I've ever had

  • *****

I love my dinner experiences at Tai Sushi and was never disappointed. Very comfortable and cozy interior. The waiters/waitresses were attentive and with wonderful service. The images shown on tv made my ordering painless.

Love they keep bringing newness to their selection. They do not serve just the typical. My favorite appetizers are spicy conch salad, tuna sliders, spicy tuna spring roll, salt & pepper soft shell crab, yellowtail ceviche, crab salad on crispy rice and tuna tower.

If you are an adventurous eater you must try scallop and ama ebi sashimi, they are fresh and the price is reasonable.

  • *****

I almost don't want to write this review because I want to save this place for myself!!

We tried this place on a whim after hearing about the wait times elsewhere. No wait, less than 5 miles from my house, AND byob?? Yes, yes, and yes!!

Let's just say the highlights didn't stop there. The service was great. Seriously - the people there are ridiculously nice and friendly. But more importantly, the sushi was fabulous! We tried several dishes and they were all great:

Tuna Tower - Great to start with. Tasted extremely fresh with a little bit of kick. Definitely something we'd order again.

South Beach Roll - No rice, so this one was a little different. I was a fan and would easily order it again.

Volcano Roll - OMG. You have to order this! Seafood on top of sushi rolls? Get in my belly! This was the absolute winner of the night.

Spicy Tuna - Simple but one of the best I've had!

Firecracker - Definitely had a bit of a kick but wasn't super spicy.

Crazy Roll - Yes please. Was more on the "basic" side but we loved this one as well.

Overall everything was REALLY good and we are thrilled to have taken a chance on this place. The restaurant itself is pretty small (and fairly casual) so if you're planning to bring a group you may want to call ahead. They do take out as well and have a very small delivery area (I think they said a 3 mile radius).

One last thing - google maps lied a bit on the location....if you're coming from Custer, it's on the left side (not the right) in a small plaza next to Pizza Hut.

  • *****

My wife and I came here based on Yelp and also because it's just a few miles fro where we live. We weren't sure what to expect since most of the Yelp reviews so far were by non-Asians. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience -- service and food were great...and it's nice to have a place like this so close to where we live.

Everything we ordered was fresh and the rolls they offered had some creative combinations that we hadn't seen before. Our favorite dish of the night though was the salmon sashimi. This salmon was tender and fatty and just melted in our mouths (not quite toro-quality but a lot less expensive!).

We'll definitely be back -- the Sashimi Salad is something high on our list to try on our next visit!

  • *****

On a rare week night, when the hubby was home, we decided to try this place for dinner.

The restaurant is in a small quaint shopping center just outside of Craig Ranch. The max capacity is 45 people, so expect an intimate dining experience.

We pulled up at about 8:30 and were the only customers there. I wished I would have read the reviews more thoroughly before we went to have more of an idea on what to order and to know that this place was BYOB (I love that!).

There is a flat screen tv on the wall that depicts pictures of almost all their dishes and their names. I really appreciate that they give you a separate menu that provides a description of all their rolls.

We decided to order the kimchi hotpot, dream roll (minus the masago and eel sauce), and the jalapeo roll. While we waited on our food, the owner and waitress intermittently came over to ensure our experience was positive. They were both really friendly and I appreciate that they truly care about the quality of their customers' dining experience.

Our kimchi hotpot came out first and was piping hot. I mixed the raw egg into the soup as soon as they placed it on our table and it cooked in no time. This is not like Korean kimchi jigae in case that is what you're expecting. I enjoyed the sour kimchi flavor and my hubby liked the seafood.

Our rolls followed about 10 min later, after the waitress asked if we were ready for them (so considerate). I must say I was kind of disappointed about the jalapeo roll because instead of having a tempura crunch, it was somewhat chewy. I did enjoy the dream roll and the creamy wasabi topping that comes with it.

For a neighborhood sushi restaurant, I really think this place has a lot of potential. I want to go back and try the dishes recommended on other reviews.

For the price and friendly customer service, I give this place an A. I give it a B- for the dishes we tried.

I've had a lot of sushi, all over. From Hawaii to LA to Austin and here, in Dallas. This is right up there with Uchiko in Austin. Seriously, give this place a try.

Albert, who owns the place, was with us for the entire evening. He made sure we had nothing but the best and helped us try new dishes based on other dishes we enjoyed.

It is BYOB, as they do not have their liquor license, but they provide ice buckets and a fridge at your request.

He has an amazing roll called the Craig Ranch roll with his 'secret sauce', and we ordered a second one.

All of the sashimi was top grade and very fresh.

I'd write more, but in typing from my phone. The prices here for not only reasonable, but cheap for the quality food!

We will be going back at least once a week.

As a bonus, he also delivers!!!

You're welcome, you will thank me later.

Just moved in less than a mile away and tried these guys out. We called in a phone order for pickup. The staff was fast, friendly and courteous. Best of all, the sushi was super fresh and well made. They are generous with the fish in the rolls and all the other items we ordered were tasty too!

    Great prices and great food!

this is a very very very small and modern sushi restaurant in a really nice neighborhood. I can see a lot of potential in this restaurant.
    1. it is BYOB so wine drinkers! take advantage of that! sit down bring a bottle and get some nice sushi roll and drink your night away!
    2. appetizers are a great catch. my favorite is the salt and pepper soft shell crab. it is one crab cut into four pieces and topped with onion and jalapeo. it is crispy and savory! the tuna tataki can be my second favorite because of how special the ponzu sauce on top is. it is in a gelatin shape and pretty unique.
    3. rolls. MUST TRY DALLAS ROLL. I am in love with that roll. it isn't your normal cream cheese and crab meat roll. it has spicy tuna inside along with asparagus which is really different from other restaurant. topped with fresh avocado and salmon. delicious! the Texas roll didn't quite live up to my standard in roll. the seaweed flake on top is there for look than taste. the taste itself over powers the beef and making the whole thing fishy.
4 dessert. the ice cream waifer are the best. try them!

the restaurant owner is a nice man who cares a lot about his customers!
come try this place out! it's new and it's special!

Very good sushi, nice little hole on the wall. The staff was very nice. It's small but super busy. Definitely recommend.

We always have a wonderful meal. Everything is fresh and the service is spectacular. The Tuna Tower is my favorite and rarely do I have much room for anything else. But every roll I've tried has been delicious. Hubby had Teriyaki Chicken tonight, which was delicious as well.

  • *****

moving from nj/nyc area we havent been able to find a real sushi spot that didnt charge $30 for a delish roll in over a year.... all the places we went to didnt have much of a taste but this spot it the real deal... very fresh, flavorful and just became my to go sushi spot

What a little gem in McKinney/Frisco! Since moving to Collin county on average my family and I eat here once a week. I have yet to have anything I haven't loved.

Must haves: salt and pepper shrimp - battered shrimp mixed with cooked onions and jalapeos. The left over veggies as delicious with sushi rice. Tuna tower - appropriately sizes portion to share. The Texan is surprisingly good with seared steak on top.

If you love the other sushi places where you have Texas sizes portions loaded with filler (rice and krab salad) then this isn't the place for you. I prefer delicate rolls that you can taste the fish and I get those at Tai Sushi.

Pro tip: you can make reservations. Also BYOB.

  • *****

    What a wonderful restaurant!

The staff, food and environment are such a joy. This small, cozy place is BYOB and great for date night or a get together with friends.

Definitely give the Diamond and Firework roll a try-- as well as their spicy edamame and tuna tower. Absolutely will continue to return and tell friends.

I feel conflicted writing this review because I know that inevitably, it will encourage more people to come check this place out, thus making it harder to get in. BUT I am a big believer in recognizing people and places that do it right, so I will set my feelings aside and encourage all to check it out!

Tai Sushi House is tucked away in a small shopping center. It's very small and I have a feeling they will eventually outgrow the size, because the sushi is fantastic! This place is BYOB, which I am not always crazy about, but I don't need a drink to enjoy their food!

We've ordered the spicy edamame, which is so tasty. It tastes like honey chili sauce or something is on it. They're really good. The fried pork gyoza, I kid you not, is some of the best I've ever had!! The flavors are rich and the dumpling is still pretty light! And of course the sushi.. I have tried 4 different rolls, all of which have a very fresh flavor. This place is not like shiawase which makes ridiculously oversized rolls, their rolls are appropriate in size and each one is the "perfect" bite.

Top this place off with clear menus with images on them (you can ask for this) and it makes selecting your rolls a piece of cake! And the service here has been great :)

Only wish this place was open during the lunch house.. I can't always wait until 4pm!

  • *****

Good food, great atmosphere, excellent service, and good people.
Will definitely comeback with my friends.

  • *****

We love this place! The atmosphere is very intimate and it's a great place to go for date night. The stuffed mushrooms are one of my favorites. Staff is always courteous and helpful.

  • *****

The portion sizes (at their price point) seem a little less when compared to most sushi houses. This I found a bit disappointing.

We ordered carry out and found the service to be quick and friendly. The food was delicious.

  • *****

My husband and I found this place today. The food, service and atmosphere are outstanding!!! We will return again soon!!!

  • *****

First timer. Ordered 4 Cali. Rolls and we all thought they were fabulous. Real crab is the key. I hope it is consistent.

  • *****

The soups were very tasty, the sushi was amazingly fresh, and the Temporel cheese cake was to die for!

  • *****

So excited to see the improvements made in service and product! This has always been my favorite, tucked away place for incredible sushi, and we were not disappointed last evening.

  • *****

The BEST sushi in town. My kids and I went this past Sunday and we loved it. It was super clean, the sushi was fresh and amazing! The staff were very nice and attentive. We have been looking for a great sushi spot and WE FOUND IT!! We will be forever customers, can't wait for this Sunday because we are going again! This place is a MUST try, you will be a returning customer for sure!!

  • *****

Order the Kim roll trust me. This place has great eel. Pricy but very good. And the snow crab roll is great also. Nothing better than fresh snow crab

  • *****

This a great neighborhood restaurant! Warm, inviting and friendly atmosphere and I loved the food! It is BYOB too! I had the Craig Ranch rolls. Loved It! I can't wait to go back and try more!

  • *****

I'm super picky with sushi but this place makes it top-notch. Always fresh, abundant and flavorful. Quaint, casual place. Great, friendly service.

  • *****

We loved this place! The food was wonderful. My husband is more of a raw fish, true sushi lover than I am. Raw fish creeps me out so I like things that are cooked. Anyhow, when we first walked in I was kind of surprised because I was expecting more of a sit-down restaurant feel. It kind of reminded me of a fro-yo place or some other quick-service restaurant. We brought our own wine since I read that it's BYOB. The waitress kindly offered to open our bottle. But then, I came to find out after glancing at our receipt that there was actually a charge for that. So one of the reasons I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because you have to tell people there's a charge associated with something you offer to do before doing it. Customer service 101. It was $5 I think so yeah not a big deal but still, she should have said something.

Once again the food itself was great. The Texas roll was amazingggg. My fianc liked the raw stuff he got...I think he got a rainbow roll and some sashimi. We shared the tuna tower and it was very good too.

Summary: food great, ambiance kind of weird for dinner date, staff could improve on communicating to customers (they were otherwise very nice)

  • *****

I've been in McKinney the last year and have struggled to find great food at a reasonable price and I must say Tai sushi is at the top of the list! The rolls are amazing, much better than other places and the prices don't break the bank. A must place for people in the area! Did I mention b.y.o.b!!!!

  • *****

Small restaurant but it makes for a great waitstaff. As soon as we walked in, everyone (seriously, everyone) greeted us and made sure to make us feel welcome. The owner of the restaurant came over and welcomed us, talked us through the menu, the pictures available on the TV of the sushi, and the specials of the day.

A bit pricey but it's normal for what you'd pay for sushi -- in the city at least. Definitely would go back and remembering that it's BYOB for next time!

  • *****

It's my first time and I ordered their Sushi Combo 6, Miso Soup and Salmon Crown. I was pretty impressed because the food were neatly packed and you can tell that they don't scrimp on their packaging. Even their napkins are of good quality and got embossed designs. I love their Salmon Crown because of its freshness and its very creamy texture. I will definitely go and try their other items.

  • *****

Second time here. The server, Sarah is extremely nice and helpful. She recommended me appetizers and rolls. Both were delicious and my mom & friend loved it. Will come back soon

  • *****

This place was oh so yummy!
I read the recent comments and decided to call ahead and make reservations around 7pm (which I'm so thankful I did, this placed was packed) I also read from other yelpers this place was BYOB..what?! So I also doubled checked this before I strolled in with 696478 bottles of different wines. :)

My husband and I walked through the door at 6:55p I noticed there was only 1 table left and the hostess looked at us a bit frazzled and asked "What could we help you with" I replied I made a reservation at 7pm she looked relived because she had no more room for any walk-ins (honey, I'm smarter then that). Other then that she was very attentive, she made sure my husband had ice & coke for his Jack :) which made me happy. We started off with the stuffed jalapeos as an appetizer and had a few rolls which I apologize I forgot and I forgot to take pictures. The food was pretty awesome! The only thing I wasn't happy with is that this place is very tiny and I feel a bit cramped. Other then the small place, the food is really good!

  • *****

The best sushi place in McKinney! My husband and I eat here at least once a week. You can't go wrong with any of the rolls but my personal favorite is the summer roll and my husband loves the rainbow roll. And you have to try the dumpling soup! It's a little spicy (I don't remember if it says that on the menu) so don't get it unless spicy is something that you like.

  • *****

What a pleasant experience, great sushi everything is great here. everything! Clean as a whistle! Great service but most importantly great food! A gem in west McKinney.

  • *****

We absolutely love Tai Sushi House! For a majority of our meals we will order to-go but the ambiance of the restaurant is just as worthy to bring your own bottle of wine and indulge. So happy we found this place!

  • *****

GPS took me through the neighborhood and I almost gave up hope then I saw the restaurant behind a huge tree. Once inside, I noticed every table was taken but luckily I was seated expeditiously. I had the miso soup, mixed greens ginger salad and tataki tuna which was all so fresh & very tasty! Then (druuumm rooollll please) I ordered the salmon California roll which was delectable. I have saved Tai Sushi House in my phone for future reference! This is my new favorite sushi spot when I'm in the area!

  • *****

Sunday night. Didn't feel like cooking. Craving salmon. Ooooh sushi, yes! But didn't know of a good/not-overpriced sushi place close to home that was open late, until now!

For a Sunday night to be open until 10pm, in a residential neighborhood - I'm impressed. And grateful. :-b I called in my order to pick-up (although it says they also deliver, which is awesome), and when I got there, the order was ready to go!

For $10, I got Sushi Combo 3. Two salmon nigiri, two ahi, and one yellowtail. For how fresh it was, that's a terrific price. It was packed so neatly, and they included chopsticks, fresh ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce packets. The people who worked there also seemed very nice.

I will definitely be back, and looking forward to trying more of their menu.

The place itself is very small, very casual, but I like that it seems more of a neighborhood sushi restaurant than a commercialized one. It's nestled in a shopping center off of Stacy, surrounded by homes and apartments (no street/signal lights), and it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention haha (I had to make a U-turn). ;)

  • *****

Only about 12 tables so be sure to get there early or try to call ahead. Great food and solid service! The quality of the fish was very good, better than most! BYOB, so do take advantage of bringing your own drinks. We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

  • *****

Nice and cozy small sushi restaurant. Glad to find it near community. Will come back again. We ordered. The tuna tower, sushi combs and chicken curry and kids dam chicken. Most of them are above average in taste.

  • *****

Yummy, it's close to the house and I especially enjoy the katsu scallops. I usually eat them in the car so I don't have to share at home.

  • *****

Hands down, our FAVORITE sushi place in McKinney! Love the variety of sushi! All are delicious! Veggie goyza pan-seared & damn chicken are our favorite appetizers.

  • *****

This place is on a whole new level of good. First time and was really impressed. Exceeded every expectation.

  • *****

I can say the food was great. Good quality sushi. This was my first time. I definitely will be back. Try the summer roll.

  • *****

One of the best places we've been for sushi. Always quiet, waitstaff is attentive. We love the tempura mushroom, craig ranch roll and the fantasy roll. All were yummy!!!

  • *****

Best sushi we have had in the area by far! We just moved here a few months ago and have been trying out different sushi places. We were always left a little (or a lot) disappointed. Tai Sushi finally hit the mark! We have been back twice and feel the same way every time.

The service is amazing, they are all so friendly. James is a great server. Make reservations if you will be there Friday or Saturday night, they are small and do fill up.

We usually just get rolls at sushi restaurants, but we tried the Tuna Tower on the appetizer menu and it was amazing. We now get that every time.

Crazy, Yummy and South Beach are our favorite rolls, but we are not big fans of cream cheese or lots of sauce.

  • *****

Just moved to the area and I'm so happy I found a great sushi place! Our waitress was so sweet and she made sure we were taken care of. The food was delicious, we didn't wait long! It's a BYOB so that's always a plus. I would definitely recommend this place!

The inside of the restaurant is so small and cozy. Definitely a great place for a date night.

  • *****

This place is LEGIT! Service is wonderful, food is delicious. Jin, you are the best !

  • *****

Nice and fresh sushi I have ever tried in my life. They have a lot of combos which are cheap and good. It is cheaper than you ordered separated cuisine. The waitress recommended me a tuna and California rolls. It tasted so delicious and sweet fresh of raw fish. Nice sake drink. Very Friendly customer service. High recommended to everyone.

  • *****

I loved this place. First time, sushi was good! I had the Texas roll and beef fried rice and enjoy every bit of it. Service was quick and fast.

  • *****

We went to this place last night with my man and he lovesssss it!! Food was great, Atmosphere warm and cozy, and everybody there so friendly. We used to go to Yama Sushi on Plano, but i think we found new fav to go and definitely come back for sure

Always caring and attentive service. Fresh and made with care. Try The Canoe Roll! (Not on the menu)

Went here for the first time last week. Highly recommend making a reservation for weekend nights. But sushi was so good! Loved the lava roll! We will definitely be going back!

What a great place to take the family and enjoy delicious sushi prepared while you wait. This place is buried in a little strip mall, if you don't look you can pass it up. From the outside it's pretty ordinary, but once you walk in the mood changes for the better. The feel of this place is awesome, I felt welcome from the moment I walked in. The staff there is exceptionally friendly, and you feel like they want you there and they enjoy you being their customer. I brought my son on this trip. My son had a great time, and loved his first sushi experience. I made sure to give him a large piece of wasabi so he could cross over to manhood with the wasabi nose burn. The rolls here are prepared very well and the staff knows the menu, I only tried two rolls, but they were both delicious. I had the Craig Ranch roll, and the other role I cannot recall what it was called, but it had a jalapeo on each slice of the roll. My son ordered the Dam chicken, I think the only reason he ordered it was so he could say the word "Dam". LOL Our meal came fast, and was delivered with a smile. When I visited the bathroom to wash my hands, the bathroom was clean and smelled pleasant. This place has the makings of a great spot for my family to come too often when we have time to have some sushi. I'm glad I found this hidden gem, and look forward to many visits in the future.

  • *****

We are regulars here. The food is always great, and the prices are decent. They just recently added a sushi bar to expand the size a little bit. When you visit ask for Sarah. She is an amazing server that wasn't overbearing and timed all courses just right! Thank you Sarah for another great meal.

Tried this place for take out and it was fantastic!! I will definitely be back. I tried the Craig Ranch, Lava, tuna California, and spider rolls. They were all great! Highly recommend this place.

  • *****

Been coming here for a couple of years for carry-out. It's very good sushi at premium pricing. Expect to spend $100 or more if you like specialty rolls. Sushi is fresh and consistent. Bagel roll, spicy tuna, spider roll, Dallas roll, texas roll are all staples and they are always very good. Good selection of specialty rolls and you'll find the best pricing on their basic rolls--all are very good. If you want really good, no frills sushi this is the place to go.

  • *****

Went in last Friday after work and tried their new roll (Showtime Roll) and the Craig Ranch roll. It was SOOO delicious!!! The fish was really fresh!
And the service there is so amazing! Really sweet owners!!!

  • *****

Very nice, very, very nice. Had the King Dragon roll...it's a must have. The yellowtail sashimi was so fresh and lite. The rainbow roll, even though common, was excellent. Rachel Bernal and I were surprised how good it was. Very small place; friendly staff. Great service.

  • *****

Surprisingly solid sushi!! The staff is SO NICE! They chatted with my parents for like 15 mins after our meal in a not creepy or annoying way, but in a super genuine and sweet way. The menu is solid, the fish is nice and fresh, and the non-sushi menu items like the fried rice and appetizers are pretty good too. It's not too expensive, which is fitting. A good place to go on a weeknight for a sushi craving. And it's also BYOB which is a win. Also they have a special little back table where you take off your shoes and sink into the ground. It's pretty awesome.

  • *****

I've been coming here since the previous owners were here.
This is the only sushi place I know that uses real crabs for their California Rolls. The taste is amazing. I will not order California Rolls anywhere but here. I also like that they have Ahi Tuna Towers here as appetizer portions. Many places give you so much rice with your Tuna/Salmon Towers and usually I get tired of eating it, but the portion here is just right.

I love the ginger dressing they use for the salad. Now, if you don't like that gingery taste, this is not for you. Every sushi restaurants has their own specialty dressing and all are unique and delicious (for the most part), but I like the flavor of Tai Sushi the best! It has that strong ginger taste with a hint of citrus. I don't know what it is, but its good.

Their Sashimi Don, which is a simple Chirashi, is about $10. The cheapest Ive seen so far. They give you thick slices of fish and though it looks like a small meal, I always leave the place satisfied. I have also tried their Unagi don along with a few rolls and all were excellent.

One thing about this place is that it is hard to find if its your first time. Its hidden waaaay into this huge parking lot. It's really dark and can be easily missed. If it helps, its next to Pizza Hut, but its not like their sign stands out either.

  • *****

Great service. Normal sushi prices. BYOB (the corking fee is dumb, $5

  • *****

Popped in on my own tonight because I had a seaweed salad craving. The salad was excellent. I also ordered the James. It was fabulous! Lots of extras on top of the roll and the dressing was perfect. I will be back!

  • *****

New favorite sushi/sashimi place! Pass by here all the time, no idea it was here! Very impressed by the quality and variety of sashimi for a small place. Also my orders came out in a decent amount of time, very happy about that. Very clean restaurant, and waiter was super attentive. They don't serve alcohol but that's ok we can BYO. Have to come back to try the kimchi hot pot!

  • *****

Tai Sushi House is tucked away in the back of a little shopping area next to a Pizza Hut (or Dominos.. I forget which one). If you aren't looking for it, you will probably look right past it so keep your eyes open! Parking is plentiful.

The restaurant seems to be a family owned place, and everyone was very nice and helpful.

    The Food:
Kimchi Soup: very flavorful, and light broth with a little kick to it. For $9, it is on the pricier side of things, but it was surprisingly very good. It was an impulse order and I'm quite pleased at the decision.

Salmon Sashimi: This was $6.50 for 3 moderate slices. The salmon was not super fresh (I mean, we're in the middle of Texas so what do you expect) but it wasn't completely thawed out either so when I bit into one piece, I could feel the icy consistency.

Sashimi Platter: Same with the salmon, there were parts that were not completely thawed, but overall, they did a good job at preserving the taste and keeping out the fishy, old fish taste/smell

We also ordered a couple of rolls, but neither were really spectacular. But, they weren't bad either.

I'm used to eating very fresh seafood, so maybe my standards are a bit high so the 4-star rating is based on the fact that I understand where I am geographically and that fresh seafood is pretty much impossible. Given that fact, Tai Sushi House does a very good job at serving as fresh as possible sushi in Texas.

  • *****

The wife and I go here a few times a year. We really love it. The BYOB is great. I have yet to find anything k the menu that doesn't taste fresh and wonderful.

  • *****

Nice hidden gem. Found on yelp and was pleasantly surprised. The udon soup had a clean taste and very flavorful. Sushi was good and the Kim roll was very tasty. It was reasonably priced and will def come back. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

  • *****

Good sushi. Appetizers are very good for the price. I normally go for stuffed Jalapeno or Stuffed Mushrooms. Rock n Roll, Diamond, and Fantasy rolls are my norm. you won't be disappointed. really good place for to-go sushi.

  • *****

I'm allergic to fish so I have to rely on my friends. They liked it!! I only heard someone say their shrimp was a little tough for their liking. I ordered the dumplings soup it was fantastic and Spicy. It is byob which is terrific! I have pictures for you!

This is one of my favorite sushi spots over here in McKinney/Frisco/Allen! We haven't dined in but have picked up and had delivery services and it's both been wonderful! Food is just as good as if it was fresh at the restaurant! The people are friendly. Customer service has always been spot on. They are closed on Tuesday but will be open if you have a special event going on.

Must try that Salmon Crown Roll, fresh and delish!

  • *****

    Incredible sushi! Super impressed.

Tiny restaurant with surprisingly good food. Plenty of parking but I'd suggest reservations on Friday or Saturday nights.

We had the Rock'n'Roll, the Firecracker (hot) and the Lobster roll. All 3 were sensational. Highly recommend.

Friendly service. Food came out quickly. Wonderful experience.

    5 stars!

  • *****

Decided to give this place a try as suggested. Needless to say, it lived up to the hype. The rolls were good and the staff was nice and inviting. I'll definitely be back for the Yummy Roll. See you soon Tai Sushi House!

  • *****

Two of us. We ordered rainbow roll and rockin roll. Solid. Rockin roll was "medium" spiciness to me. I liked it. Nice variety of menu options, including low carb alternatives. They have some "fusion" options (eg canoe roll, off menu, which is a fried tortilla with deliciousness inside) and options that non-sushi eaters can enjoy. Service was fast and polite. Cozy environment. We arrived at 6p on a Friday and seated immediately. It was almost full at 6:30. There is a reservable Area in back of restaurant with a round table that is set apart from rest of restaurant seating that would be nice for a private party. 80s Love songs playing.

I'm quite the avid sushi eater, so I decided to come here. Ever since, this became my go-to sushi restaurant

For the past 3 years, I've been ordering the exact same item - The Tuna Tower (w/out wasabi). The prices are pretty decent for the amount of food you're given. The fish is relatively odorless, and has a great coloration. Salmon tastes pretty generic (It's pretty good, but nothing special). Some items I'd recommend

    - Tuna Tower (it's a must try)

    - Tuna nigiri

The dessert is fine, but it's nothing special. If you're not full, I'd recommend you grab some

The last time I checked they had a "Tempura Bannana"

    The service is great.
    Friendly staff.

It's a pretty small establishment, so make sure you arrive at a time when you won't be jammed like sardines.

One of the places I'd rate 5 stars.

  • *****

Had takeout here and was so good we came back and stayed in. There was a table in the back by fireplace (no fire so I don't know if it works) and 2 women with young children. Not well behaved :( but what can a restaurant do? Just sayin'

Anyways, the food. The tuna tower is a great size for one person. Since my family doesn't enjoy the crab as much as I do it is so nice to find a tuna tower I can have without having to talk anyone else into it. All the food was real good and I highly recommend you give them a try.

  • *****

First, let me start by saying the staff is so unbelievably nice. I went with my 2 year old son, date night, and they were attentive and kind to us. The sushi, I got the yummy roll and salmon pieces, was AMAZING! The only thing I wish they had was fried ice cream, but my waistline was grateful they didn't :)

It is BYOB so my husband and I will definitely be back for date night.

  • *****

This quaint little place is awesome!! Sunflower Roll is to die for! Sashimi Appetizer just right for 2...Hot Green Tea perfect for cold weather! Everyone is super nice ... Call ahead and make reservations if you go at peak hours!

This tiny hole in the wall is the place to be for sushi. And you know it's good when the place fills up within minutes. This place has very little seating so come early or be prepared to wait. Suggestion: Come before 5pm will possible to score a seat here without any wait at all.
Definitely a must try, with decent prices and great food, a great gem in McKinney!

  • *****

Been here a few times and everything is delicious. Extremely fresh fish and excellent service makes this one of the best sushi restaurants in city.

I'm not going to pretend that I'm some sushi expert, but I've had the best sushi EVER here. It is astounding to me that a place with such consistently good fish can charge this reasonable prices.

Litterally the best sushi in the area! Their desserts were also fantastic! I got the tempura Bananas and they were incredible! Perfectly fried! The place is small and homey, we sat up at the bar. The staff is incredibly friendly! This place is a must try if you are sushi lover!

Husband and I stopped in for a quick bite while running errands, figuring we’d try somewhere new we hadn’t been. Oh my goodness, the Salt and Pepper Shrimp appetizer was HEAVEN and the 2 orders of sushi were amazing. The staff was so friendly and personable, too. So glad we stopped here on a whim! Will definitely be recommending to family and friends!

It is good, but the surprise corking fee added on the bill aggravated me. They should let custoners know about it up front instead of sneaking it on the bill.

It's very hard to find fresh, quality sushi that measures up to some of the best in Los Angeles but this place does that. The staff is very helpful and efficient and the sushi tastes like you live next to the ocean. This is our go to spot.
